The Achenbach System of Empirically Based Assessment (ASEBA) includes an integrated set of rating forms for ages 1.5 to 90+
For additional detail on ASEBA products in all of the age ranges, please visit our online catalogues (click here) and download the ASEBA section of the Clinical Assessment Catalogue (seven pages, 250MB). ASEBA forms are used and researched worldwide, as reported in over 6,500 publications from 80 societies and cultural groups. The ASEBA offers comprehensive, evidenced-based assessment of adaptive and maladaptive functioning. Developed through decades of research and practical experience to identify actual patterns of functioning, the ASEBA provides thoughtful professionals with user-friendly tools. ASEBA instruments clearly document clients' functioning via quantitative scores and individualized descriptions in respondents' own words. Descriptions include what concerns respondents most about the clients; the best things about clients; and details of competencies and problems that are not captured by quantitative scores alone. The individualized descriptive data, plus competence, adaptive, and problem scores, facilitate comprehensive, in-depth assessment. Numerous studies demonstrate significant associations between ASEBA scores and both diagnostic and special education categories. You can relate the ASEBA directly to DSM-IV diagnostic categories by using the DSM-oriented scales that are available for scoring ASEBA forms. MULTICULTURAL APPLICATIONSThe School-Age Module (Ages 6-18) with Multicultural Options displays profiles of scale scores and cross-informant comparisons in relation to norms from many societies.
