ASEBA - Ages 6-18 ModuleSemistructured Clinical Interview for Children & Adolescents (SCICA)The SCICA was revised in 2001. It features separate scoring profiles for DSM-oriented scales and for revised empirically based scales derived from new factor analyses of larger samples spanning ages 6-18. Now available - SCICA Computer Scoring Starter Kit The SCICA is designed for use by experienced interviewers and includes instructions, a protocol of questions and probes for ages 6-18; observation and self-report forms for rating what the child does and says during the interview; and a profile for scoring ratings. Administration time for the interview is 60-90 minutes. Interviews are scorable by interviewers and by observers who can be present in the room, watching through a one-way mirror, or watching a videotape later. The SCICA scoring profile includes eight syndrome scales (Aggressive/Rule Breaking Behaviour; Anxious, Anxious/Depressed; Attention Problems; Language/Motor Problems; Self-Control Problems; Somatic Complaints (ages 12-18 only); and Withdrawn/Depressed); as well as Internalizing, Externalizing, and separate Total Problems for Observation and Self-Report items. Hand-scored and computer-scored profiles are available. SCICA Training Video and Software The 90-minute training video shows 10-15-minute segments of 6 SCICA interviews. After watching a segment, trainees score items on the SCICA Observation and Self-Report Forms. Trainees then use the SCICA computer scoring program to compare their ratings with ratings by experienced raters on all items and the 8 syndrome scales. The program computes intraclass correlations indicating the agreement between the trainees' ratings and ratings by experienced raters. Trainees can practise rating each segment until they achieve good reliability, as indicated by the computer program. A training manual is included with the video. COMPONENTS
