CTBS Form K Primary Battery (1998)
The Canadian Tests of Basic Skills (CTBS) is available for a variety
of levels/grades:

* The Survey Battery is a shorter battery that only
assesses core skills in reading, math, and language. Science is not
included in this battery.
Primary Battery Form
K can be administered at four levels (typical relationships
between Level and Grade are shown here, where "X.Y" represents
Grade X, with Y months of instruction to date):
- Level 5 - administer to Grades K.1-1.5
- Level 6 - administer to Grade K.8-1.9
- Level 7 - administer to Grades 1.5-2.6
- Level 8 - administer to Grades 2.5-3.5
Separate
Test Booklets and
Guides for Administration
must be used for each of the four levels.
All other items for the Primary Battery Form K (Scoring Key &
Skill Guide, Teacher's Handbook, etc.) can be used for any or all
of the levels.
The Teacher's Handbook
provides information on how to interpret assessment results and
also provides case studies.
A Preview Kit is available that covers all four levels.
The Assessment Coordinator's Handbook provides more technical
information and is useful to those at the school board level. It
is available on-line.
Score Conversion software
(a DOS program, compatible with Windows) is available.

Notes about the code numbers
for ordering: For each product, the seven-digit number in
the chart is part of a ten-digit ISBN. If you wish to use
the ten-digit ISBN when you prepare your order, start with the three
