CTBS Form L Survey Battery (1998)

The CTBS Form L is a shorter "Survey Battery." It tests the core skills in Reading, Math, and Language -- Science is not included in this battery.

CTBS Form L takes half of the time that the full Form K, Levels 9-14 battery takes to complete.

LEVELS 9-14 FORM L

The Levels 9-14 Form L is similar to Form K and can be administered at six levels (these are typical relationships between Level and Grade):

• Level 9 - administer to Grade 3
• Level 10 - administer to Grade 4
• Level 11 - administer to Grade 5
• Level 12 - administer to Grade 6
• Level 13 - administer to Grade 7
• Level 14 - administer to Grade 8

For hand-scoring, separate Test Booklets and Scoring Masks are used for each of the six levels.

All other items for the Levels 9-14 Form L (Answer Sheets, Directions for Administration, Norms Booklets, Teacher's Handbook, etc.) can be used for any or all of the levels.

The Teacher's Handbook provides information on how to interpret assessment results and also provides Case Studies.

The Assessment Coordinator's Handbook provides more technical information and is useful to those at the school board level. It is available on-line.

Score Conversion software (a DOS program, compatible with Windows) is available.
