OS-22: Exclude Class(es) From Building and System Averages

DESCRIPTION

If you wish to exclude one or more of the classes from your building and system averages, fill in the "Exclude from Averages" bubble on the applicable Class Identification Sheet(s). For your reference, a listing of excluded classes will accompany your reports

If you do not check off OS-22 on your order for scoring, it will not be applied to your order, even if some "Exclude from Averages" circle(s) are filled in.

The students in an excluded class are not eligible to contribute to any of the Building and System Averages, frequency distributions, local norms calculations or item analysis tabulations, including the following optional services (when ordered):

  • OS-2 - Frequency Distributions with Percentile Ranks
  • OS-3 - Local Norms Reporting Service
  • OS-5 - Group Item Analysis (see Note below)
  • OS-8 - Student Performance Chart
  • OS-9 - Building & System Averages, Sorted by Grade
  • OS-15 - Group Item Analysis with Distracters
  • OS-19 - Special Group Averages
  • OS-24 - Male and Female Averages
  • OS-32 - Group Narrative Report
  • OS-34 - Extra Set of Building & System Averages
  • OS-38 - Group Performance Chart

Note: The class averages for the excluded class are still displayed. OS-22 has no effect on the class averages in the Student List Report and in OS-10. OS-22 also has no effect on the class item analysis in OS-5 (Group Item Analysis).

OS-22 not only affects the calculation of the building and system averages, it also generates a listing with the names of the excluded classes, for your files. A sample page is available. The classes are listed in the same sequence as the sheets were arranged when you submitted your order for scoring.

Other than this OS-22 listing, there is no other notation, on any of the reports, to indicate that any class has been excluded from the building and system averages.

The "per-student charge" applies to all of the students in your order, regardless of the number of students in the excluded class(es).

SPECIAL NOTE

This service requires special coding of the Class ID sheets.

RELATED SERVICES

When OS-3 (Local Norms Reporting Service) and OS-22 are ordered, the students in an excluded class are eligible to receive Local Percentile Rank scores, but these students do not contribute to the calculation of the local norms.

To exclude individual student(s) from the class, building and system averages, refer to OS-29.
