OS-32: Group Narrative Report
DESCRIPTIONThis service (formerly called "Stanine Histogram") provides a report for each grade in each building, and for each grade in the system. For example: For CTBS Form K, Levels 9-14, each grade's report consists of a stanine bar chart and a three-part narrative summary for each of the 12 subtests, 3 test totals and the composite. In most cases, for CTBS, several pages are printed for a grade for each building/system. However, if there are no eligible students for a subtest/test total/composite (e.g., no student "took" the subtest), then the stanine bar chart and the narrative will not be reported for that subtest/test total/composite, and the group's number of pages may be less. The bar charts are based on the tabulation of the students' National Stanine scores (National Age Stanines for CCAT). OS-32 is not intended for use with small systems. The bar charts and the narratives depend on having a reasonable number of students in each group. The first part of each narrative compares the group's proportion of high-, average- and low-achieving students to the national norm. If the number of eligible students for a subtest/test total/composite is less than 20, then the first part of the narrative is not printed (it is replaced by a message). For CTBS, the second part of each narrative presents the group's average Standard Score score, and describes the typical student's performance. If the number of eligible students is less than 10, then the second and third parts of the narrative are not printed (they are replaced by a message). For CCAT, the second part of each narrative is based on Standard Age Scores. The third part of each narrative describes the National Percentile Rank for the typical student in the group, compared to their peers tested in the same grade and at the same time of year (Fall, Midyear, Spring).. Note about "eligible students": If OS-22 and/or OS-29 are ordered, some classes and/or students may be excluded from the groups' results.VARIATIONSWhen OS-24 (Male and Female Averages) and OS-32 are both ordered, then OS-32 is upgraded to provide a report called "OS-32/24" for each of:
In OS-32, the stanine bar charts, the average scores and the corresponding National Percentile Ranks are not affected by OS-40 (Score Selection/Suppression for Buildings and System). |
