Woodcock-Munoz Language Survey 2001CATEGORIES: Ability, Achievement AUTHORS: Richard W. Woodcock, F. Munoz-SandovalRANGE: 4.0 years to Adult SCORES: SS; GE; AE, PR, RPI; CALP levels; Comparative Language Index (when both languages are administered). SUMMARYThe Woodcock-Muņoz Language Survey (WMLS) is a quick and easy-to-administer screener designed to measure language proficiency of English language learners (i.e., ESL students). Four tests comprise the WMLS that measure the critical areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. These tests, described in the chart below, are primarily measures of language skills predictive of success in situations characterized by cognitive-academic language proficiency (CALP) requirements. The content of each test was selected to represent important skills needed for language proficiency for a diverse population, covering a broad range of development (4 years to Adult).
